We officially ended the first week of school yesterday, although it was a short 3 day week, it went off successfully! My boys are all 3 now in high school and my little girl just barely missed the school age cut off by about a week, so lucky ducky me, I get to keep her home with me for 1 more year! Even though she won’t be in school for another year though doesn’t mean I’m not getting a head start on collecting Box Tops™. I’m super competitive and I want her to be a Box Tops rock star her very first year of school. After taking advantage of the Walmart Bonus Box Tops offer on select General Mills® products (FIVE box tops on select packages), we went home and made a cute little container for Kynlea to keep her box top collection.
Her and I do the box top collecting, but my boys still get to reap the goodness of the items we purchase with box tops labels. The tradition for them is that every Friday, I either bring them a nice hot take out lunch or sign them out to come home and eat. So yesterday, I took them a nice lunch with an extra treat that we made with the Reese’s Puffs Cereal I bought last week. I was actually surprised I had any left because they pretty much inhale that particular cereal! We love to eat chocolate covered pretzels and snack on them often. So when I saw this idea over here, I knew we had to try them.
Of course mine aren’t as pretty, but they sure did taste good!!! Talk about easy to make too, and if you’re here very often you know how I like my food quick, and easy. Here’s how I made these yummy White Chocolate & Reese’s Puffs Dipped Pretzel Sticks.
You’ll need:
- 2 cups broken Reese’s Puffs cereal
- 1 pack of white chocolate ( I use the candy melts)
- Big Pretzel Sticks
Directions:
- Warm up your chocolate either in the microwave or in a warmer
- Dip your pretzel sticks in the chocolate and coat them about 2/3 of the way up
- Immediately after coating your pretzel, roll it in the Reese’s Puffs pieces and then set them aside on a non stick surface to cool (I put mine in the refrigerator until I took them to the school)
I made about 12 pretzels with this and the boys shared with their friends at school. I’m always getting asked to bring their favorite cookies or brownie bars, and it kind of got me thinking about a new clever way to earn more box tops!!! Through a raffle!
People love to give to a good cause, and people love sweet treats! Why not bake up a few dozen cookies, or a yummy cake and raffle it off? If you don’t like to bake, than perhaps you’re crafty and can make something like a holiday wreath or a diaper cake to raffle off! The possibilities are endless. Charge people 1 (or however many you choose) box top per raffle ticket, and I bet you’ll have people falling over to give you theirs! I definitely plan on putting this into action with Kynlea, and I even made some cute Printable Box Tops Raffle Ticket to use for it as well. It’s blank to fill in the prize details and the amount of box tops needed per raffle ticket. All you have to do is print, cut, and collect those box tops!
