Summer is fast upon us and that means one thing for me. Loud, noisy, and extremely bored kids in the house all day every day. Are you ready? My boys are older so they come and go to relatives’ and friends’ houses so it’s still usually just me and Ms. Kynlea. I like to keep her busy with fun activities. Sometimes it’s crafting with things around the house and occasionally I treat her to an activity I find on Amazon when I have gift cards. Kynlea has been asking for a couple of months to make a dream catcher and while I’ve been getting ideas on how to make one, I came across this neat Dream Catcher Kit from Craft-tastic and had to give it a go. She was so excited to try it and despite that is made for kiddos age 8+, I thought with my help her and I could get it figured out.
We opened up the kit and set the contents out and started reading the instructions, then got to work.
We started off threading the larger tear drop ring with the grey thread. I honestly was worried they hadn’t included enough thread to wrap the entire ring, but I was wrong. This was a very easy step, the only thing a little difficult was making sure to cover the overlapping part of the ring.
Once we got the larger ring covered, we started on the small circular ring with the orange ring. This was very easy to do as well. Only issue I had was that the ring is not closed, so the thread tended to catch in the space and tangle up, but we made that work too with caution.
Going along with the directions, we wrapped and weaved the designated threads in each ring and then attached the circular ring inside the tear drop one, then added the feathers.
Super, super cute. I love the bright colors and patterns in the feathers. Only thing left was attaching the necklace strap onto the dream catcher and we were done. I think Kynlea really liked it!
We really enjoyed this kit and other than the 2 small issues I noted in the post, I didn’t have any other problems with the kit. We enjoyed having something to make together and it took about 30 minutes. The Craft-Tastic Dream Catcher Necklace Kit can be purchased on Amazon for $9.99.
