It’s official, the boys are out for summer vacation and I can already tell it’s going to be a long summer with all the fussing that is already taking place. At some point though I’ll lose all sense of hearing and be able to tune it out. Really though, we love summer break. The kids get to relax and de-stress from all the pressures of school and we like to get out and do a lot of fun things. We can’t always be on the go however, but the boys can pretty much entertain themselves. Ms. Kynlea however, is just 5 and still likes to have activities to do. We’re always working on some kind of craft or contraption she wants to build and I thought I’d find some new ideas of things to do with her this summer. Kids need to keep their minds going, and a lot of kids craft activities can be done with items laying around the house. Let’s face it, it really doesn’t take much to make them happy. Here are fifteen really neat and easy kids craft activities that we’ll be trying over summer break.
Tic Tac Toe Game Board Bag is an easy project that takes a few materials. This would be great for road trips too!
Firework Salt Painting – This one looked very simple, and I think it would be neat to try for the 4th of July.
These Paper Hyacinth Flowers take just a little more work, but not difficult. They were too cute not to share.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this Glitter Galaxy Slime looks, and it has NO borax!
Kynlea is all into wind chimes right now, and this Beaded Wind Chime would keep her busy for a bit. All you need is a stick, lots of little beads, some bells and string.
I saw a ton of crafts using toilet paper rolls and this Japanese Flying Carp was one of my favorite. Made with different color tissue paper you can make them as colorful as you like.
Is this not the cutest? Empty bottle container is pretty much all you need to make this Kids Chia Pet, oh and the Chia seeds of course….I didn’t even know you could buy chia seeds…shows how much I know
Here’s another colorful project with these Rainbow Wind Chimes. All you have to do is take a little walk in nature to get these supplies pretty much. Then paint it however you like.
I’m crushing on the toilet paper roll crafts, and these little toilet paper roll houses are another favorite of mine.
…..as well as these super cute Toilet Paper Roll BFFs
Am I the only one who didn’t know you could melt these plastic beads? She has a few different things to make with them, I liked these Melted Bead Hair Clips the best. You can find hair clips for these on Amazon.
The Paper Bag Ninjas are adorable. I could see having some of these set out to do at birthday parties.
Pretty, pretty, pretty. This Kids Craft Flower Wreath has lots of possibilities, and I think it’s actually made with foam sheets.
I knew one day I could use my hoard of baby food jars. Check out these Glitter Slime Monsters.
What little one doesn’t need a rock pet. Find some empty match boxes and make a few of these cute Matchbox Stone Pets.
That should get us going at least. Which of these cute crafts is your favorite?
